In August 2020, electronic music artist Chevel called out for graphic designers to submit applications for the design of his next album. The brief was clear: “The cover must be colourful, iconic and have a strong impact. It must carry emotions, memories and abstract thoughts.” Lorenzo Marzi's photographs were included with the brie and one of them was Chevel pictured in an urban location with various graffiti artwork, and from there the inspiration arose. Graffiti is a mixture of ephemeral, popular and emotional art. I chose to create a typography with the name of the album echoing the codes of graffiti. Added to these elements were the depiction of film strips and the addition of a vintage texture to appeal to our emotions and nostalgia.
